Every Holiday Season, folks in and around Fort Worth start gearing up for the many events this city has to offer. One such event, is the Fort Worth Parade of Lights, held each year the day after Thanksgiving in Sundance Square. But, there’s a lesser-known event held annually on the Fort’s own Lake Worth: A Parade of Lights…on water!
On December 8th the members of The Lake Worth Sailing Club, along with The Boat & Ski Club, will embellish their sailboats in all the season’s splendor and glide across the water to light up the evening sky. And this light show will have you seeing double, as the boats form a line of lights reflecting off the lake.
The parade of boats will leave the docks at around 6:30 pm and head for the Lake Worth dam, then circle back to Casino Beach by about nine o’clock before heading back to the club at Peninsula Club Circle. In the event of bad weather, the parade will be rescheduled to December 15th.
You won’t want to miss Fort Worth’s spectacular Holiday parade on water. Bring your blanket, hot cocoa, and yuletide cheer, and pull up a chair at one of the public parks along Lake Worth, and enjoy this free festivity. Make it your new family tradition for the Holidays!
