Tomatoes EVERYWHERE!!! And it’s official — they are now taller than me! I guess that’s not very tall to some folks, but to us ‘little people’, it’s a very BIG Deal. : ) I just had to share my lovely ‘toms’, since it’s been quite a few years since I had much luck with growing them, let-alone in such abundance. In fact, this has got to be the very BEST year for tomatoes ever, for this little Glamping Gardener.

Blessings your way, that Mother Nature is being as kind to you, as she is to me this year. Today, I am frying another batch of Fried Green Tomatoes!! I just can’t get enough of those tasty little morsels!

Island life has its advantages, that’s for sure! A short 5 minutes away from home, I have miles and miles of beach and even more miles of the seawall on which to take a stroll with my little one; getting fit in the process. Baby gets the easy part because I do all the walking, while she has it made-in-the-shade in her stroller. Even better, we are out in nature, soaking up the sun and the salt air. Life is good!

There are so many things to see out there on the seawall: mountains of seaweed…mounded street level; birds gliding gracefully above the water, the sun glistening on the water, families playing on the beach or surfing the waves of the gulf. Today, I walked and walked….and walked for probably 3 to 4 miles one way. And I realize, at my age–and still hanging on…

I’m feeling a bit guilty for my latest treasures when it comes to the hardware I bought for my new (Oh so lovely) kitchen. I found these one-of-a-kind cabinet knobs on Ebay, and I am in LOVE with them! Still, I am a very humane person, and didn’t quite realize before bidding, that these ‘ocean theme’ knobs actually had real sea horses inside. :  (  I really couldn’t tell by the photos, but I loved the colors and the look of the hardware; knowing they would look great on my new bead-board cabinets.

So…there you have it! My guilty pleasure. Still, I can’t help but feel a bit heart-sick for these tiny sea creatures.   Then again, I can’t help but admire the elegance of my little ‘kitchen aquariums’. Sitting here, writing this post, I can look over and see a bit…
